ILARA has a Board of Directors which deliberates on the general orientations of the institute and its budget, gives an opinion on the training offered within the institute, as well as on the designation of partner establishments . It includes ex officio members, elected members and qualified personalities proposed by ex officio members and elected members.
ILARA’s Board of Directors is chaired by Jean-Noël Robert, professor at the Collège de France and member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres.

Eight qualified personalities were appointed by the President of the EPHE on the proposal of the Board of Directors and the opinion of the Board of the EPHE.
